BABY ON BOARD

COOPER MALCOLM WILLIAMS
Wow, what an amazing ride the past 4 days have been. There is so much to say in such little time. Lets try and recap some of the past few days starting with LABOR (how fun)!

FEBRUARY 24, 2007
I was scheduled to be induced on Robs birthday Monday, February 26th. Little buddy was not having any part of it. Saturday night at about 10:00pm Brian and I were hanging out watching the tube. After the news things started getting a little more restless. I tried heading to sleep hoping that I could hold off one more day. Nope, it was time. At about 12:30 momma Berta came over to hang with the kidos while they were sleeping. We were off to the hospital with baby number 3.

FEBRUARY 25, 2007
1:00 am IN THE MORNING: We got checked in and things were starting to roll! It was a good thing they had ONE open bed in the whole hospital....they saved it for me. I was dialated to about 6cm. Yup, time for epideral. This kid is going to come flying out!

3:00 am: Dialated to 8-9cm - no broken water yet, but loving the epideral. The doctor will not be coming in until 7:00am.

4:00 am: Brian and I trying to rest but can't close our eyes with all of the monitors beeping.

8:00 am: Dr. here! Lets roll.

9:11 am: Cooper Malcolm Williams is welcomed to this earth.

  • Weight - 6 lbs. 13 oz.
  • Height - 20 inches long
  • Cute, Cute, Cute
Cooper had a difficult entrance to say the least. He was unable to cry and release the fluid from his lungs. They quickly took him away and pumped his stomache which was filled with fluid. He is such a trooper! They took him to Special Care Nursery where they placed him under an oxygen tent and began caring for him. He will only be there for a few hours I said to myself. Nope, this was only the beginning.

FEBRUARY 26, 2007

It was difficult to hear that we couldn't even hold our child. This beautiful baby and no little one to kiss and hug. The wheeled me down to the SCN to see Cooper. I started to tear up as I noticed all of the tubes and special equipment hooked up to him. Why?
