TOUGH AS NAILS

CONGRATS WHIT AND SCHY
NEW BABY BOY....BOHDIN

More to come......off to see that new baby in Wyoming.

I'm back and here to say that my new little nephew Bohdin is the cutest little peanut I have ever seen. He has a cute little hairy head with tiny little ears. He is TRULY PERFECT in every way.

I just wanted to let all of you know how FREAKIN tough my sister Whitney is. She is tougher than nails.....let me explain. She lives out in the middle of beautiful NOWHEREVILLE. She encounters mountain lions, rattlesnakes, coyotes, bears, and any other living predator on the earth lives where she does. It doesn't seem to bother one bit. She has power outages on a regular basis and is hours from any living human being, but it still doesn't bother her one bit. She goes into labor on a road that was designed by the devil himself, and it doesn't bother her one bit. She has a drug free labor and delivers a 8 pound baby and it doesn't bother her one bit. She rides hundreds of miles on her road bike and it doesn't bother her one bit. She is made of IRON and STEEL! Nothing can crack her. She is an amazing person and will be the most WONDERFUL mother to her sweet little Bodhin. Congrats Whit - you are number 1 in my book.
Carson, Kelton, and Cooper LOVE thier new little nephew Bohdin

CUB SCOUTS

SCOUTS-

We returned home from Carson's pack meeting tonight where he earned 15 awards. He is such an AMAZING kid with so many different talents. This is a picture of his brown trout that he caught. He drew and labeled the whole thing. I was impressed! GREAT JOB CARSON......We are so proud of you.

Brian played a special role in the scout pack meeting tonight. He taught all of the little boys about bike SAFETY. It was fun to see Brian out there speaking kid language. He did a A+ job.

ZUCCHINI BREAD

Alright already! For years everyone has died over Heather's delicious zucchini bread recipe. The start drooling when I say I am baking zucchini bread. I have never wanted to share the recipe with anyone because of what is actually in it. Well, today you may indulge in the lovely SUGARY ingredients.

ZUCCHINI BREAD
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup veg. oil
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups shredded zucchini
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • If you like nuts you may add walnuts
Mix ingredients and bake in greased baking pan at 325 for 55-57 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.

There you have it! Nothing healthy about that......just a bunch of crap that is definitely not good for you. Oh well, ENJOY!

TRAPER BOY

Before moving into our home in Ashton we heard roomers about a mice problem. Well, with five acres of country fields you are bound to have mice of all sizes. So we got a cat (Midnight) from Jennica and figured we would never see a mouse again. Brian was watching television the other night and heard something under the sink. He opened up the cupboard and found two cute little mice stuck in the garbage can. So he didn't kill them like I would have, but he set the garbage outside and set them free- like Jesus would. Now when Brian was younger he trapped muskrats and sold their hides for money to take me on dates. Hee, Hee! So why is it that he can't trap a STINKING mouse. We had a little talk about being a REAL man and helping out with the mouse problem. So he went to town and purchased some traps. He set the traps and carefully placed some MILD cheddar cheese on the trap. Yup, it didn't take long until the first little mouse was caught. I was so PROUD of him! So he got it out and showed us his big prize mouse. He set the trap again and when we woke up he had a great big smile on his face. His smile was almost as big as when he shot his 6 point elk with his bow. So he got the mouse out and showed us his prize. I was a PROUD wife! Carson on the other hand looked at Brian and said "Dad, what would Jesus do?" What a difficult question. I am not sure if Jesus would put up a trap or not. Well, our cat Midnight also caught a mouse last night. Wow, I am sure proud of my little traper boy Brian, and it looks like Midnight will get to eat dinner tonight after all. J/K

GRATEFUL: Today I am grateful for Gods sunsets. I love how the whole sky turns so many different colors. I love how I feel when I look at the sky - so peaceful. I love the shadows that it throws onto the trees. I love how not ONE sunset is the same. Wow, so beautiful, so amazing.

SHOP PROGRESS

out house
GRATEFUL:
Today I was cleaning my toilet and usually it is a total CHORE for me to clean off the urine spread all over the seat, and the poop stains on the floor (from the boys of course). As I was scrubbing the toilet I was thinking to myself about how wonderful it is to actually have a toilet. Today I am thankful for my TOILET! Yup, I love how you can sit down to use it, how you can fill it to the rim......, and best of all how you can flush it bye, bye. So today I will clean my toilets, scrub the urine, and be grateful for my white shiny bowl of joy.
  • Today Brian has some help building the garage/shop. They are putting the roof on and framing up the walls.

  • Carson and Kelton are heading to Rexburg to stay overnight at grandma and grandpa Boice's. They are going to have a party with all of the cousins. How fun will that be? Good luck and have fun!

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY

I have been slacking a little on my morning gratefulness.
Today I am grateful/thankful for my GARDEN!

Brian and I made this cute little planter box out of OLD wood laying around. It is so cute!
I love the little weeds that sprout out the top and cover the whole area where my garden resides. I love how my beautiful radishes, once so pretty and tasty have turned to beautiful flowers (I guess that means they have turned to seed.) I love the curly peas that are so thick that I can't open them. I love how I planted my carrots so close together that they won't grow. I love how my lettuce looks so pretty, but tastes so nasty. And best of all I love how the things that I thought would never grow......DID! My delicious zucchini, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkins are so beautiful. I LOVE MY GARDEN. For so long I have been wanting one, and now that I have one I feel so blessed! I consider myself a novice gardener who definitely needs serious professional help, but I LOVE MY GARDEN. So today I will spend some time making zucchini bread, delicious salads, and steamed potatoes and sharing with my AWESOME neighbors. I took this picture out my front door. I love these cute little humming birds. They make me HAPPY!

KIDS

The other day I was working and called home to see how the boys were. They said that all was well and nothing too exciting was going on. They had been riding their bikes, playing in dirt, and helping dad build the shop. They also mentioned that they were digging to china, and making a swimming pool. Wow, how could such little guys do such amazing things. I came home to this!

OWN PERSONAL MUD POOL! What is it with my kids and mud? They are like little pigs just wailing in filth. After they took the mud bath Kelton came in looking for cucumbers for his eyes. He said he was going to be taking a rest and his eyes were a little POOFY. Where in the world did they get that from. I haven't been to a spa lately.....Oh yah, NEVER! I thought they were totally cute. The only thing not so cute is their little buns that will have mud balls coming out for the next couple days. What would life be like without KIDS? Pretty boring, I think.

15 YEAR CLASS REUNION

This weekend was my 15 year class reunion. Wow, was I excited to go! Not, I decided the hour before that it would be fun to see some of my good buddies from high school that I haven't seen in years. So, I shuffled the kidos to grandma Bertas and headed to the big MHS.......STAG. Yup, in high school they called it STAG the FAG because you were coming by yourself. I didn't mind at all being called a STAG FAG. I guess you hit a certain age and you don't care much about what anybody says. Brian was able to get out of the reunion by inviting his good buddy up to help him build the shop/garage. Actually, I didn't give him any WARNING that it was a for sure thing so his friend Chris came up to help. MUCH APPRECIATED!

I walked through the doors of MHS and right off the bat noticed some very unusual people. People that I didn't even know, people who I should have known....right? Well, some were fat, some small - some tall, some short - some wealthy, some who thought they were - some smart, some not so - but all and all it was alright.

I dished up my delishous plate of chewy dry chicken, hard roll, and withered lettuce to find me a table -STAG- with some of my very best buds. Magan Zollinger, Holly Benfield, and Julie Spaulding made the evening fun. We decided that we were all going to meet up a year from now and do something pretty stupid......run a marathon. This will be our friend reunion. I think it was a great idea except for the 26.2 miles. Actually, I am pretty stoked about the whole thing.

The evening turned out pretty great. Great friends, crapy food, and a program that didn't even exist. What more could you ask for? I am just glad it wasn't me planning the event. Well, what will the next 5 years bring. I think it will bring a few more boob jobs, botox, lipo and yup.....me. I never thought I would attend a reunion, but it was great catching up with some of my old buddies.
